THE BLESSING OF HARMONY

Ps.133:3 – TPT – This heavenly harmony can be compared to the dew dripping down from the skies upon Mount Hermon, refreshing the mountain slopes of Israel. For from this realm of sweet harmony God will release his eternal blessing, the promise of life forever!

There is nothing in this life that can compare to living under the blessing of the Lord. There are no treasures, properties, accomplishments, or even natural relationships (including family) that can come any where close to the joy of living under the blessing of God. The fruit of that blessing can be seen in natural blessings such as wealth, accomplishments, and great friends and family but those are only the outward signs of His blessing. The blessing of God is spiritual and effects us internally which results in the outward blessing that the world is striving to attain. For us this is the commanded blessing of the Lord that comes from knowing and pursuing Him and living in unity with the body of Christ, there is nothing that comes close to this life of God that floods our soul and changes our world. Here is how Matthew Henry describes this commanded blessing.

“They are blessed by God, and so are truly blessed: There, where God’s people live together in unity, the LORD commands the blessing, a compound blessing that includes all blessings. It is God’s right to give this blessing; we can only beg such a blessing. Blessings according to the promise are commanded, for God has commanded his covenant for ever. Blessings that are effective are commanded, for he speaks and it is done.

They are eternally blessed. The blessing that God gives to those who live in love is life for evermore; that is the blessing of blessings. Those who live in love not only live in God, but already live in heaven. Just as the perfection of love is the blessedness of heaven, so also is the sincerity of love the pledge of that blessedness. Those who live in love and peace will know that the God of love and peace is with them now, and they will be with him soon, with him forever, in the world of endless love and peace. How good and pleasant it is, then, for God’s people to live together in unity!”

The spiritual blessing we taste now is only the edge of God’s ways. The Lord calls this blessing the arrabon, or engagement ring as a promise of much more to come. The blessing we taste now is only a drop in the ocean of God’s eternal inheritance for us.

So what are you waiting for? This promise is for you and your house. Recognize Jesus in His place of glory at the Father’s right hand; worship Him. Gather with His church in worship and begin to flow in harmony with His church. You can begin now to enjoy the spiritual benefits of God’s commanded blessing.
