Is. 60:19-20 “No longer will you have the sun for light by day,
Nor for brightness will the moon give you light;
But you will have the LORD for an everlasting light,
And your God for your glory. “Your sun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the LORD for an everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning will be over.

I love the consistency of God’s Word. The different theophanies experienced over the years have profound differences but striking similarities. I think of the shining glory from the cloud in the tabernacle to the penetrating light Paul saw on the Damascus road. I am reminded of the shining apparel of Jesus on the mount of transfiguration and the glowing face of Steven as he preached at the synagogue in Jerusalem. Jesus spoke about being the Light of the world while John admonished us to walk in the light. Our God is light and His glory streams from His face throughout the universe He created. When we see Him in the new world, we will be like Him, changed by His light in a moment of time. John Gill speaks about the light of God in the new world. Check out his thoughts about the light in the coming kingdom.

“The Shekinah, or glorious presence of God, which filled the temple of Solomon, and shone round about the shepherds at the incarnation of Christ; with the presence of God, who is light itself, which will be enjoyed in a much more glorious manner, will the church now be enlightened; and this will be an everlasting light unto her: and the Lamb is the light thereof; in whose light they will see the face of God, and see God face to face; they will see Christ as he is, and behold his glory; and look upon the angels, those glorious forms of light, and all the glorified saints, and know and converse with each other; and they will look into, and clearly discern all the mysteries and doctrines of grace, and all the various scenes of Providence, which will all be opened and laid before them. And this light will be always without any change and variation; which is no small part of the commendation of this city, which is the inheritance of the saints in light.”

The world is engrossed in darkness. It is a spiritual darkness that blinds the eyes of everyone in this life. We are born blind, we live our whole lives as blind, thinking we can see not knowing the darkness has blinded our eyes. Only when we have an awakening can we begin to see things as they truly are. It is impossible to comprehend the things of God while we are living in darkness. This is why Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Have you been born again ? If so, are you walking in the light? John said, “but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

  1. Yes, Yes, Yes, Amen, Holy Holy Holy is He. Thank You Jesus. I am so in love with you. I give You Praise Honor and Glory. What a LIGHT you are. Blessings Pastor Frank…
