I have been feeling a sense of urgency in this season we are in to challenge God’s people to start bringing in the harvest. We are in a time when the hearts of a generation are prepared, like Jesus said, “the fields are white”. When I was a new Christian we were also in one of those times when the harvest was ready. The ministry I was involved with in those days was all about equipping us to be harvesters. We were taught to share our faith as a part of our day to day life. One of the tools they gave us was called the Roman Road. We were encouraged to memorize these scriptures and use them every time we were given that opportunity. Here is my version of the Roman Road. It would be helpful to memorize these scriptures to use in your harvesting opportunities.
1. ALL HAVE SINNED
Rom.3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
This verse is useful in bringing people into awareness of their own personal sinfulness.
- THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH
Rom.6:23 – For the wages of sin is death,
This scripture shows that there is a price to pay for our sins.
- THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE
Rom.6:23 – the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This verse shows the difference between the gift of God’s grace and the wages of sin.
- CHRIST DIED TO SAVE SINNERS
Rom.5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Christ paid our debt, he took the wages that were due to us that we could receive His gracious gift of salvation.
- THE RESPONSE OF FAITH
Rom.10:9 – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Now its time to respond, you can lead your candidate in prayer. Urge them to pray out loud and revive Christ into their lives as they call upon His name.
- THE RESULTS OF FAITH
Rom.5:1 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
We now have peace with God, the wages of sin have been paid by the Lord, we have received Him, the gracious gift of God, into our lives.
Using this tool can help you in gathering the harvest. God’s word is powerful, use it as a tool and the Lord will perform wonders.
