Rev.11:19 – And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.

This passage of scripture comes after the seventh trumpet sounding and the kingdoms of this world becoming the kingdom of the Lord and of His Christ in Revelations. In our times we are rapidly approaching the end of this age and the millennial reign of Christ is upon us. There are so many different views of what that season will be like, one thing we do know, it will be much different and greater than this present age. First, the devil will be bound for a thousand years. His influence and deception will be absent and the whole world will live in a time of peace. As today’s scripture declares, the temple of God will be opened to all of us. We will have an unhindered revelation of God and His glory in this new season on earth. Jesus Himself will be with us and we will reign with Him on this earth. Here is a glimpse of something Jonathan Edwards said about this coming season of God.

“Difficulties in Scripture shall then be cleared up, and wonderful things shall be discovered in the word of God that were never discovered before. The great discovery of those things in religion that had been before kept hid seems to [be] compared to removing the veiling and discovering the ark of the testimony to the people that used to be kept in the secret of the temple and never seen by them. Thus at the sounding of the seventh angel, when ’tis proclaimed “that the kingdoms of this world [are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ],” ’tis added that, “the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament.” So great shall be the increase of knowledge in this time that heaven shall be, as it were, opened to the church of God on earth. It shall be a time of great holiness; now vital religion shall everywhere prevail and reign. Religion shall not be an empty profession as it now mostly is, but holiness of heart and life shall abundantly prevail.”

Its hard to imagine how different everything will be in the reign of Christ on earth. Not only will there be no hinderance from the devil, those who are sons of God will be in a state of glory with our immortal bodies. We will have a keen perception of the Lord and His glory will be on full display for us. We will be employed in the restoring of the devastations of this planet, apparently the Christians will be in charge. Paul said we see through a glass darkly right now, in other words we really can’t see clearly into the things to come. I do know this, His return is imminent and it will be an amazing place.
