Heb.7:25 – Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Heb.7:25 Amp – Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.
This passage describes the effect of the heavenly ministry of Jesus on all of us. This is the practical side of Christianity, taking what Jesus has done for us on the cross and letting it effect our day to day life on this earth. His death not only provides forgiveness for us but also brings us in touch with the power of God. This is why we are saved to the uttermost. Not just for length of days but the power of God completely changes us, we are totally and completely saved. Jesus ministry at the right hand of God gives us the ability to live a different kind of life. Here is a quote from Barnes followed by the Passion Translation notes on today’s verse. “To the uttermost. This does not mean simply for ever—but that he has power to save them so that their salvation shall be complete. He does not abandon the work midway; he does not begin a work which he is unable to finish. He can aid us as long as we need anything done for our salvation; he can save all who will entrust their salvation to his hands.”
“The Greek text is somewhat ambiguous, an alternative translation could be “He is able to save for all time” or “He is able, now and always, to completely [fully] save,” or “He is able to save into the always.”
This is why it is so important for us to look to Jesus seated on the right hand of God. Paul said to set our affections on Jesus, we do this by worshipping Him. When worship becomes your lifestyle your love for Jesus will increase. This is the place where the heavenly priesthood effects us, saved to the uttermost, eternally and totally. So why not take some time right now, turn off the distractions and begin to set your heart on Jesus? This is the place where permanent and total life change will happen to you.

Amen.
My God.
My God is omnipotent and benevolent. He separates light from dark. He is the true and only living God who reigns in Heaven.

The first sermon I heard at Victory in July of 1986, was about El Shaddai, Lord God More Than Enough. Having encountered God who snatched me from the Jaws of death, out of the very grasp of satan himself just days before, that message has resonated through my life ever since. One of the Scriptures Pastor Frank referenced in that sermon was Hebrews 7:25, and I am a living, breathing testament to the power of that Truth.
